Joe's WT-LORD  News and Events Letter

Hi WT-LORD Fans and Players ...

It's time to begin updating this page again after all these years. I've been
spending my spare time lately working on a "BRAND NEW" IGM for
WT-LORD and it's called "The Trailer House". Wow ... what fun it's
been taking tons of ideas from players and incorporating them into the IGM.
It's "Inter-Active" with many of the other IGMs, It's Strange, It's Weird,
It's Incredibly TWISTED and has more riddles to be solved! Even ACAD
doesn't have all the answers to this one. Give it a ride and le me know what
you think.

HINT HINT HINT:

I've been asked many times about the comment "Think Plastics" that
is sometimes found in the Twilight Zone! Well, here's another hint ....
Plastic Explosives .... Blast someone to Smitherines ..... it's used
somewhere in the Twilight Zone but the actual EXPLOSIVES are found
in another IGM. Find it ... Keep it ... Blast it in The Twilight Zone!
Enough Said on the topic of: THINK PLASTICS!

"mini-hint" ..... the tiny vibrator in The Trailer House has nothing to do
with the three MIDGETS! Think People Think!!!!!

10 QUESTIONS:

We'll start off this news letter with 20 questions answered by me ...
Joseph Watson. The questions this time will be asked by Chuck Brogan
aka. "ACAD" from Acad's World!

1. Q: (Acad): Your IGMs contain many secrets and options that aren't
apparent upon entering the IGM, how do you feel when someone
publishes these secrets for all the players to know?

A: (Joseph Watson): Interesting Question.... I've discussed
this topic over margaritas on several occassions with
my old friends "Danny Melvin & Bobby Thornton" and
here are my thoughts. First off it bothered me that I
had spent what at that point was many hours working on
ideas, concepts and storylines for the IGMS. My feelings
were not hurt ... just a bit upset. I considered going back
and recoding the IGMs with different options... Anyway
after a visit or two with my friends and a huge amount
of "Frozen Margaritas" I realized that the idea of someone
actually taking the time to figure out and catalog many of
the secrets and hidden options in my IGMs was actually
flattering. I felt almost like a Celebrity.... I still do.
I stop by Acad's IGM Hint Site regularly looking to see
what else had been figured out. I also enjoy reading the parts
where people know something is there ... the rumored stuff ...
it's really a cool thing! I also drop hints in the games from
time to time to lead people to un-discovered stuff. One last thing
on this question: I remember back in the beginning ... to get
people to start looking and finding the hidden stuff I began
adding just some hidden "MENU" options ... one guy sent
me email bashing me and my IGMS saying " ... nothing is
hidden ... he just makes mistakes ... he forgot
to add it to the menu .... the IGMs suck .... etc ...."
Oh well, he didn't want to be entertained anyway. If he still
plays I'd bet he has read Acad's IGM Hint Site and
brags to everyone about how
"I FIGURED EVERYTHING OUT" ... yeah ... right!

2. Q: (Acad): Many of your IGMs are inter-active with other IGMs, what
gave you the idea to use this approach? I ask this question
because I know you have put a great deal of time into these
IGMs and receive little in return.

A: (Joseph Watson): I have to credit Bobby Thornton with this idea.
He called me one day and was saying ... "Hey dude .... why don't
you set things up so I can use an item I find in 'The Rue Morgue'
in 'The Witch Doctor's Hut". I told him it would be a huge headache
to code and I didn't want to do it. He continued to call and bug me
so I did it to get him to quit pestering me on the phone. Bobby was
the guy who came up with the sick & twisted storyline for
The Rue Morgue. This got Danny Melvin started and the next
thing I knew they gave me ideas for a couple of years of programming.
Most of the time spent now on the Inter-Action is done on the concept
side ... what to use and how to use it ... then on coding functions that
will call the databases from the various other IGMs. Now most of the
IGMs I write are inter-active with anywhere from 1 to 10 other
IGMs ... so "THE PLOT THICKENS" ...

3. Q: (Acad): Players hanging at a level and not advancing is
always a problem. Knowing that the actual file that is
used by all games resides in a root directory and would
be very difficult for it to try and sort out these
players playing in more than one game leads to my next
question. Could you set the IGMs that attack multi-players
to get the top dogs?

A: (Joseph Watson): I think the would be relatively easy to add to some
of the IGMs. Mutant Chickens and stuff..... tracking a player's stay
at any level would be easy to do. Punishing a player for staying on
top to long .... also easy to do ... Chuck, would you be interested in
having this option setup as Sysop Configurable? Also, would you
beta it for me? If so, let me know ... now "The Trailer House" is
finished I suppose I'm back to "Smackin'" some new PIE HOLE
quotes to keep up with the Far Left Wing Liberals .... :-)

4. Q: (Acad): A Inter-BBS game, sites playing against one another,
we've discussed this in the past and you have done some
work and beta testing on this, any plans on going through
with it?  I realize this would not be an easy task but I
believe there are enough BBS sites that would be willing
to give it a try.

A: (Joseph Watson): I actually sat down a couple of months ago and
did some pseudo code using the Inter-BBS Concept. I decided
to write the Trailer House instead at that time. I won't promise
anything but will consider looking through my pseudo code again
in the future.

5. Q: (Acad): What's your favorite drink?

A: (Joseph Watson): Right now I'm hooked on Sweet Tea made with Splenda.
I'm also crazy about Diet Dr Pepper. For some odd reason people also
know I enjoy Margaritas !!!
Muy Bueno ... Mas Fine .... Frozen or on the Rocks!

WT-LORD FACT: 32bit vs. 16 bit WT-LORD is a 32bit
native wcCODE program for Wildcat InterActive Net Server.
The 32bit native coding allows it to interact with with little drag
on the Operating System. The 16bit DOS version will slow a
Windows NT Server to a halt with it's virtual DOS sessions.
So WT-LORD is a great alternative for NT Systems. Take it
from me, it's the greatest! WT-LORD is by far the most popular
game being played on most WINS system on the Internet!
