A division of
Zachary Music, ZeuS is a new brand made up of exceptional,
time-proven instruments manufactured by the best and most well known
instrument companies. My goal is to order instruments from the big
name-brand manufacturers with my new ZeuS label. This way I can
specify better quality and more appointments such as better cases,
different finishes, better mouthpieces, etc. and still buy it for
less. I can pass the savings on to you. Don't be alarmed at the low
prices. I am an expert in my field and I have been involved in the
industry for years. I know all the manufacturers and I know how to
shop for the best instruments in the industry at the best prices.
This is a great benefit to you who may not have the experience that
I do. In essence I do the shopping for you, so you don't have to.
By going direct to the
manufacturers and bypassing company reps, wholesalers, distributors,
customs brokers, etc. and taking advantage of "direct from factory",
container shipping and by elimination the middlemen, we save a lot
of money and therefore so do you.
In this way we
can bring to the market exceptional quality woodwinds and brasswinds
at very affordable prices.
These
instruments are truly the best value in wind instruments today. I
only choose to deal with the best and most established manufacturers
and therefore ZeuS instruments are manufactured by the best
instrument factories in either the USA or Europe. Each model of Zeus
instrument is personally chosen by me, the owner of Zachary Music
and each model must meet my strict quality standards based on
playing characteristics, durability, design and affordability. You
will find simply that you can not buy a better instrument for the
price. In every category (student, intermediate and professional
instruments) ZeuS is the BEST VALUE.
The truth about
Private Label "OEM" Products:
Chances are
that many instruments you have heard of are not actually made by the
companies that have their brand-name stamped on them. For example,
some Vito flutes and saxophones are made by Yamaha. Yamaha student
bass clarinets are made by Leblanc for Yamaha. Bach tubas and other
background brass are made by Yamaha. Many of these "major and
famous" manufacturers have their student instruments made in Taiwan
and even China. Student and intermediate Buffet flutes, clarinets
and saxophones have nothing to do with the Buffet company in Paris,
France and are made by other companies around the world and just
have the Buffet brand stamped on them. Keilwerth the manufacturer of
some of the most expensive professional saxophones have student and
intermediate saxophones made in Taiwan by a variety of different
manufacturers who stamp the Keilwerth name on them. Blessing has
been a fine brass instrument manufacturer in the USA for close to
100 years. They specialize in making great trumpets and trombones
but now to expand their line they also import saxophones and
clarinets that are made for them by different companies with the
Blessing name on it.
Is there anything
wrong with this, is this dishonest?
Definitely and Positively Not !
Quality is quality, no
matter where or by whom it is made. The moral of the story is,
Please, shop for quality and not a brand-name.
The only purpose of a brand name is IMAGE. Buy an instrument and not
an image.
What about some
junky instruments on the market?
There is a big
difference between No-Name instruments and OEM instruments. No-Name
or "off-brand" instruments are marketed by stores and import
companies that search out the cheapest and thus the worst products
made by companies who are not necessarily instrument manufacturers
and only make virtually un-playable trash. Many of these instruments
are made in the third world by factories that have no or very little
experience in the design and manufacture of musical instruments.
They may make slippers one week and trumpets the next.
Who would sell this stuff?
Anyone who does not care about their reputation and does not want to
stay in the musical instrument retail business for long. No-Name
products are very different from contracted Original Equipment
Manufacturing called "OEM". OEM products are in fact brand-name
products since they are manufactured and also sold by reputable,
established and respected companies. No-Name instruments are made by
unknown manufacturers found in third world countries and marketed by
music stores that are usually not very knowledgeable or
conscientious. OEM products like ZeuS are made by old and
established instrument manufacturers and in most cases are exact or
very similar to models that have been on the market for decades
under the manufacturers own brand. For example, just like the new
Yamaha bass clarinet which is the best quality student bass clarinet
on the market but is actually manufactured by Leblanc and also sold
by them for generations.
Why can't all stores
sell quality OEM products.
My knowledge and
personal contact in the industry enables me to contract ZeuS
products. I personally know many of the owners of the major
manufacturers. I attend all the trade show around the world and I
also buy in quantity. Most importantly I know who makes the good
instruments and what specific model or designs are worthy of the
ZeuS name. This is where the knowledge comes in, since not all
manufacturers excel at all instruments. I pick the exceptional
models from a variety of manufacturers and pick and choose what
becomes part of the ZeuS line. Most music stores do not have the
knowledge or the contacts to launch a new quality brand.
ZeuS has one purpose
and that is to guarantee superior specifications for lower prices.
This means unbeatable value for you. Every ZeuS instrument is the
best in its class. If for example, if you take a $800 ZeuS
saxophone, you can be sure that it is the best $800 saxophone
currently on the market. This holds true for every model in the ZeuS
line.
If we can not achieve
this goal we won't have it made in the first place.
